The day itself
In the courtyard, under the jacarandas.
On the terrace while the light is still good.
Seated, six courses, considerably too much bread.
Downstairs in the tiled room until very late.
How we got here
A mutual friend’s housewarming in Peckham. We spent the evening arguing about a film neither of us had finished.
A flat with bad windows, a cat called Pudding, and the beginning of the garden habit.
Engaged on a cold beach in Deal, entirely without ceremony, which suited us.

Attire
Cocktail. Lisbon in March is warm by day and sharp after dark, and Casa Lila is entirely cobbled — heels will suffer. Colour is very welcome; we have no rules about white.
